
Rehearsals are well underway for the Devonport Choral Society’s upcoming production of Sunshine on Leith, with cast and crew working hard to bring the much-loved musical to the stage.
Based on the songs of The Proclaimers, the show features a vibrant soundtrack including favourites such as I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and I’m On My Way. The musical tells a heartfelt story of love, friendship and coming home, set against the backdrop of Leith, Scotland.
The cast is currently deep in rehearsals, learning the show’s songs and energetic choreography as opening night approaches.
Director Tim Cooper said the production is already full of energy and enthusiasm.
“The cast have thrown themselves into the music and choreography with incredible commitment,” Tim Cooper said. “Sunshine on Leith is such a joyful show, and it’s wonderful to see the company bringing these iconic songs to life in rehearsal.”
Audiences can expect an uplifting night of theatre featuring a talented local cast and the unmistakable music that has made Sunshine on Leith a favourite around the world.
