In October we are holding a fabulous series of workshops and concerts as part of our choral festival Viva Voices. We are really excited to have workshops hosted by the internationally reknowned and ARIA award winner Kavisha Mazella, acclaimed Australian composer Mark Puddy, Hobart choral director Jane Christie-Johnston and percussion wizard Bruce Innocent.

Details of these workshops and the necessary registration form can be downloaded here. You will need Adobe Acrobat or a similar PDF reader to read and print this brochure.

Thanks so much to those people who turned out on Monday night to audition for Bee. Sadly, we are not able to go ahead with the show this year but hopefully we can have another crack at it in the future. Thanks also to Tim and Dominique for giving up their time to organize it.
Please note that we are looking for cast members of 25 years and older for Spelling Bee. Sorry to all you gorgeous young things
You don’t want to miss out on a seat at the round table! Book your tickets now by calling in to the DECC, phoning 6420 2900 or online at www.decc.net.au
This show is a glorious treat of colour and sound that will give you more than “one shining moment!”
This year the Devonport Choral Society, in partnership with Ulverstone Rep, is putting on a second show. This will be the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (hereafter known as Spelling Bee!). we are excited to welcome Tim McLaren as director with the wonderful Dominque Baker as Musical Director.
Auditions will be held on Monday night 24th May at Devonport Primary School in Stewart St.
Our 2010 production of Camelot is well underway. I have just come back from a misty, moisty photo shoot at Bell’s Parade and I just have to say how amazing everyone looked! The costumes, designed by Wendy McCrae, are absolutely stunning and the cast are already wearing them with considerable flair! In fact, I suspect that many of them have long had a secret yen for boots, doublets and armour.
Bookings are open at the Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre and can also be made online.
This year’s cast features an exciting mix of familiar faces and newcomers including Michael Foote as Arthur, Chloe Harris as Guinevere, Kevin Hendrey as Lancelot, Alastair Yeates as Mordred and Stuart Brown as Merlin.

Arthur and Guinevere
Guess what folks – it’s that time of year again. Time for you to really get involved in YOUR local musical theatre society. Our AGM will be held on Monday night, 7th Sept at the Australian Education Union offices in Best St, Devonport, starting at 7.00pm. We’ll present our annual reports, vote in an exciting and invigorated HUGE committee (hint hint) and then officially announce all our wonderful plans for 2010. Be there or be totally square! We’d really love to see you.
